Wedding Invitation Timeline Tips
Congratulations on your engagement! Going through this process myself I thought I’d share with other brides these simple tips, hope it helps!
From announcements/save the dates, wedding invites, to the thank you cards.
Save The Date Cards
When To Send
Save the date cards give your potential guests the information they need to know in order to reserve lodging and make any other necessary plans to attend your wedding. You should mail them four to six months prior to your wedding.
Remember
Whoever receives a Save The Date card must get a formal invitation.
Information To Include On Save The Date Card
-
The names of those getting married
-
The wedding date
-
The city the wedding will take place
-
A formal invitation is forthcoming
-
(optional) An engagement photo
Wedding Invitations
Your wedding invitation sets the tone of what your wedding will be like and will serve as a keepsake memento for many of your family and friends – and you too!
When To Mail Wedding Invitations
Mail your wedding invitations six to eight weeks prior to your wedding.
So ordering them 3-4 months before your wedding is key.
When To Send Thank You Cards
In general they should be sent within three months after receiving the gift.
