Stoney Creek Engagement Session – Alexa & Andrew

Let’s be real – engagement sessions are so fun. Not only do couple’s get to celebrate this huge commitment they’ve made to one another, but they get to dress up, flirt, and take fun photos to share and look back on. There has to be a certain level of trust between a photographer and their clients to create the magic.

My biggest tip for my couple’s doing an engagement session is to do two looks: one dressy and one casual. Even if the whole time we’re at the same location, a different outfit can change the whole feel of the session. There are so many different circumstances that create a scene. You can take it from passionate and romantic in a suit and silky gown to fun and silly in jeans and a t-shirt like Alexa and Andrew’s engagement session here at Stoney Creek.

Pets are another great way to display a couple’s story. There’s usually a sweet story behind how they got their pet or naming them. It makes for lively conversation and I get to learn more about the newlyweds-to-be. I would definitely recommend bringing along a friend or family member to help take on the responsibility of pets so that the couple can enjoy their time.

Engagement sessions all around amazing. As a photographer, I have the ability to narrate a small portion of time in a couples’ story. It’s a very special feeling to know I’m able to provide that core memory for a couple and offer them such a unique experience.
