Tiffany and Corey hosted their beautiful wedding at Holy Family Catholic Church and reception at The Whiskey Factory distillery in Detroit surrounded by friends and family. From her dress to the decor, every bit of their day was timeless and classic.
What was your favorite part of the day?
“My favorite part of the entire day was seeing Corey for the first time and privately sharing our vows with one another. There were so many emotions going through my head that day but seeing him on the rooftop made it feel so real and that I truly did find my soulmate in Corey. It was nice to have this intimate moment together to remember where we started and remind us of the love we share.”
How did you know your dress was the one?
“The wedding dress appointment was interesting! I always pictured having all of my bridesmaids and mom to share in the joyous occasion. Since I went dress shopping during the height of the pandemic I was limited to who I could bring and had to try on dresses face mask and all. Honestly looking back I would not have changed this moment for anything. I went with my mom and my two best friends. I knew exactly what I wanted in a dress and when I tried my dress on the way it fit my body and the way it made me feel I knew it was the one. I didn’t want to take it off!
Following saying yes to the dress I asked my two best friends to be my maids of honor and it was probably the most special day out of the whole wedding planning process!”
Was there a piece of jewelry that was particularly special?
“I am not a big jewelry person but my dad bought me a set of pearls when I was in high school (over 10 years ago) and said I want you to wear these on your wedding day. At first I was like, “Eh we’ll see.” Pearls are very old school – not my style. But as the trends have shifted the pearls became a big influence on the overall wedding vision! I wore a set of pearl earrings and bracelet for the first time at the wedding! My pearl studded veil was even inspired by my jewelry!”
What was your process for choosing a venue?
“So, the Whiskey Factory was the only venue we looked at! Corey and I both agreed that we wanted a downtown wedding since we met in Detroit and a lot of our favorite memories together are in the city! As soon as we stepped foot into the reception space we were in awe. It was a blank canvas and I could totally see my timeless, romantic reception vision come to life! And two years later seeing it all come together brought me to tears. It was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined!”
What’s your love story?
“Corey and I met in 2015 when we were students at Wayne State University! Corey was in a fraternity and I was in a sorority. When our paths crossed we started talking and agreed to go out. We both loved the city and our first date was at a Red Wings game! Even though Corey was 45 minutes late the date went so well it went into the late hours of the evening as we closed down the Old Shillelagh (we went to this bar after our wedding reception and relived our first date with our bridal party!) Since then we traveled to numerous places, ran 3 half marathons together and went to many more Red Wings games.
In July 2020 Corey took me to have a picnic on Belle Isle. Before we were getting ready to leave we walked by the fountain and he asked me to marry him. It was the easiest yes of my life! Our relationship has been nothing short of an adventure and our marriage is going to be our greatest adventure yet!”
