There is something especially enchanting about a late-summer wedding. The golden light, warm breeze, lush landscapes. It’s the ideal backdrop for such a romantic celebration. Add that to the timeless elegance of a beautiful winery, and you have the perfect setting. Sami and Drew’s September wedding at Verterra Winery in northern Michigan was exactly this.
The Ridge at Verterra featured seventeen acres of polished vineyards, a trickling brook and views of the Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan. Just around the corner was the reception terrace where a large open-air tent stood so everyone comfortably enjoyed the summer weather.
In a summer bride fashion, Sami’s off-the-shoulder gown by Milla Nova embodied both grace and sophistication, with pearl accessories that complemented the entire look. The bridal party donned black dresses making the bride completely stand out in the best way possible.
From the wedding party to the panoramic views, at every turn there were gorgeous details to soak in. Parasols to withstand the sun gave a feeling of refinement. The florals designed by Field of Flowers North provided a soft touch that added to the romantic atmosphere.
Truthfully, it’s no surprise at all how stunning Sami and Drew’s wedding day was. Their engagement session on a boat at St. Clair Shores was a sneak peek into what these two had planned. Lively, picturesque, and an event sure to be remembered.
